BANANA BREAD DEMO, MIRJAM AND IRELAND!

11th. MARCH 2011 BANANA BREAD DEMO. MIRJAM AND IRELAND!
In Albania, 8th. March is Mother's Day, but gradually International Women's Day is being recognised. It was celebrated in Tirana this year. We had a most useful and very interesting demonstration from Mike. our Peace Corps. Volunteer friend. This was on the making of Banana Bread! He had gifted us with this delicious Bread a few times and we were anxious to acquire a little of his skill before he leaves Korce.

Later, we welcomed some Maltese friends including Antonio, Assistant General, who was here for a few days. He had spent seven years in Sudan, so he and Amira had a great chat in Arabic.

Mirjam returned last evening. She got a drive from Lushnje with our Maltese friends. Charlie gave the retreat for Religious there. We did not go as it was more than four hours from here.

Tomorrow, Ireland, here I come! In August, I was given an April appointment for the Fracture Clinic. Recently, I requested it earlier as my residency expires on March 29and I need to be here on that date and until my renewal arrives. So, tomorrow, I go to Thessaloniki - it sounds so Biblical! Then, I get a flight, via London, please God, on Sunday. Thank God, my arm has been back to normal since last July.

I am not taking the laptop. I hope though, to be in contact from the Emerald Isle.
Enjoy St. Patrick's Day!
