27TH. MARCH 2011 NATIONAL CENSUS AND BIRTHDAY 99!
Today is significant as its our National Census-taking! Our community includes a lively 99 year old. Sister Lelia celebrated last weekend. On the eve of her Birthday, her friend, Father Martin of the world-famous trio - "The Priests" - came and seranaded her. Next day, his brother, Father Eugene arrived with flowers. Of course, he also sang his greetings, to the delight of Sister Lelia, and those who were there. In fact, this Birthday celebration coincided with a visit from Manchester of a Sister from India. Sister arrived with a friend who was known to Sisters who had served in India. Since the visitors were without Irish visas, three Sisters arrived from Limerick and another from Derry to welcome Sister Gemma and her friend. For this reason, there was quite an Indian flavour to the weekend. Three of the visitors were here until Monday. The Birthday is still in the air as another friend called this evening with greetings and a gift.
Now, we are all set for the Census-taking!
Have a great week! Please God, I leave for Albania at the 'crack of dawn' on Tuesday!
